Meet The Doctor: Kathleen Henneberger, DC

Dr. Henneberger

Dr. Henneberger was born and raised in Western New York. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lancaster. Kathleen then pursued and obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology at D’Youville College in Buffalo where she also received her Doctorate in Chiropractic.

While in graduate school she served as the Student American Chiropractic Association Legislative Representative and President. These positions led her to Scottsdale, Arizona and Washington, DC to lobby for American veterans right to chiropractic care. She attended the World Federation of Chiropractic in Montreal, Canada where chiropractic leaders from all over the world meet to discuss and further the chiropractic professions globally.

Dr. Henneberger completed her externship portion of clinical training in Christchurch, New Zealand. While living there she worked as a chiropractor in a multi-disciplinary office. There she enjoyed studying clinical nutrition, applied kinesiology, Bach flower remedies, lymphatic drainage massage, post-isometric relaxation, and neuro-emotional techniques from Dr. Simon Roughan. The chiropractic clinic operated with five chiropractors, two massage therapists, and had a dispensary, in which nutritional supplements, homeopathic, and ayurvedic remedies were made readily available.

She then traveled to Sydney, Australia to study Active Release Technique with Dr. Leahy, former Denver Broncos’ chiropractor and inventor of ART.

Upon graduation Dr. Henneberger joined The Source for Health and Well Living, in East Aurora, N. Y. The Source offered a unique combination of chiropractic and physical therapy to meet each patient’s special needs, while set in an integrated environment.

Subsequently, she joined one of the most progressive Chiropractic practices in the country, the Hudson Valley Whole Life Center in Newburgh, NY. There, Dr. Henneberger maintained a high volume, fast paced practice while mentoring under the guidance of Dr. Carol Ann Malizia. Dr. Malizia has been a featured speaker internationally, taking the principles of chiropractic to Australia, Italy, Japan and Canada. Dr. Malizia was a leader in integrative healthcare for her patients, maintaining one of the top Chiropractic practices in the country and has been featured in the national publication, Chiropractic Economics. She received numerous accolades and awards throughout her career with the most recent being the Athena International Award in 2018 for her collective, steadfast contributions to the community.

Post doctoral training has led Dr. Kathleen Henneberger to study cold laser therapy techniques and applications, under Dr. Jeff Spencer, Lance Armstrong’s chiropractor for all 7 Tour de France.

She also trained under English-trained Chinese medicine practitioner, medical herbalist and essential oils practitioner, Peter Holmes, Lac at the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Manhattan, New York.

Your First Visit

Patient Forms

Before entering our office in Buffalo for holistic wellness care or chiropractic services, please fill out our New Patient Intake Form. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition.

Consultation

Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Kathleen Henneberger to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Kathleen to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.

Examination

After your consultation, Dr. Kathleen will perform a complete chiropractic examination testing your reflexes and flexibility. Other standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed as well.

Treatment

At the conclusion of this initial appointment, you will experience your first chiropractic treatment. This may include not only spinal adjustments, cold laser, and/or soft tissue trigger point therapy.

X-Ray Studies

X-rays help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.

Report of Findings

Once the information is collected and examinations are performed, Dr. Kathleen Henneberger will give you a detailed report of all findings and answer any questions including:

1. How can you help me?

2. How often do I need to come in?

After reviewing your health history, goals, examining your spine and digital X-rays, Dr. Kathleen will provide the best treatment and wellness program for your needs.

Wellness Program

Dr. Kathleen Henneberger will suggest a holistic wellness program to incorporate outside of treatment at Buffalo Family Chiropractic Wellness. This may include: ice or heat application instructions, supplements, certain activities or positions to avoid, and at home exercises and/or stretches. If you desire, Dr. Kathleen will work with you also to create healthy habits and routines for your lifestyle. Every person is unique, therefore everyone requires a customized wellness plan.
