Chiropractic Helps Fibromyalgia Pain

Chiropractic Care Reported as Effective for Treating Fibromyalgia Patients in Buffalo

If you suffer with fibromyalgia, you are not alone, as Buffalo Family Chiropractic Wellness, P. C. sees many patients with this particular syndrome in our Buffalo chiropractic clinic. Actually, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimates that roughly 2% of all adults in the US have fibromyalgia pain. Luckily, chiropractic care is one treatment option that can provide positive results.

Research Shows Chiropractic Treatment Lessens Fibromyalgia Pain

In a study published in mid-2015, 215 adults with fibromyalgia were assessed based on factors ranging from pain to quality of sleep to the levels of depression or anxiety they felt. Then they were split into two groups with one group receiving a multi-modal treatment program for three months and the second group receiving the same approach with the addition of chiropractic adjustments (specifically, to the upper neck area) for the same length of time.

The subjects who received chiropractic treatment combined with the multi-disciplinary therapy approach reported greater benefits in all areas (pain, sleep, depression, and anxiety) at three months post-treatment when compared to the study people who received multi-modal therapy without chiropractic therapy. Additionally, those positive outcomes were long-lasting as the individuals reported continued improvement one full year later.
